Fineline and Wrinkle Reduction

FRAC3 Skin Rejuvenation

FRAC3 is a new revolution in non-invasive skin rejuvenation and anti-ageing treatment. It utilises Fotona’s market leading Nd:YAG laser to penetrate deep into the skin tissue creating a thermal effect which triggers your skin’s natural ability to rejuvenate and produce more collagen.

Skin imperfections are quickly and easily treated, leaving healthy and radiant skin with no down time.

This is the new benchmark in non-ablative laser skin treatments and is a fantastic way to maintain tighter and clearer skin.

FRAC3 is also fantastic for treating diffused redness and managing rosacea along with underlying blemishes, because it stimulates angiogenesis and vasodilation of the capillaries and blood vessels. For rosacea, we often combine FRAC 3 with KTP laser to treat the micro vascular component of the skin.

With the combination of QX Max Accelera mode, it effectively removes deep lying pigments and blemishes safely, without risking adverse effect like hyperpigmentation. As new healthier collagen is formed, tighter, more natural looking and firmer skin will be produced, with the gradual improvement in skin. Continuing even after completion of the treatment program

What does FRAC3 treat?
  • Large Pores
  • Uneven Skin Tone
  • Pigmentation
  • Helps to tighten and firm the skin
  • Pimples & Inflammatory ACNE

Sun damage and other lifestyle factors often result in a dull, rough skin surface, with enlarged pores, lines and wrinkles. Some people suffer from a mottled skin tone which areas of abnormal pigmentation, along with vascular irregularities such as telangiectasia are also common.
The primary aim of skin rejuvenation is to induce the healing response of the skin and promote new collagen formation, producing evenly toned skin that looks more youthful.

After only a single treatment your skin will appear more luminous and pore sizes will shrink. Often this treatment is combined with Microdermabrasion, helping get rid the dead skin layer and increasing blood circulation which in turn enhances the photo rejuvenation process.

Treatment description

Fresh Skin Canvas offers a wide range of treatment options to improve the integrity, texture, and complexion of your skin. Our clinicians will work through the wide range of choices including laser therapies, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments, and non-laser facial treatments, individually selected to give you optimal results.

The laser can be used to rejuvenate many body areas including the face, hands, neck and chest. Treatment with the Q-Switch laser is quick and offers no downtime – you can return to your normal activities after treatments. There is minimal discomfort, and a very low risk of any complications.

Clients usually notice progressive improvement in the appearance of their skin over several weeks gradually developing a fresh, natural appearance. Laser skin rejuvenation is compatible with most other cosmetic procedures so that desired results can be achieved.
Each of our lasers and IPL are used to target different skin concerns with varying wavelength capabilities to treat all skin types and varying conditions, while our non-laser therapies including Oxygen Hyperbaric technology, are used to stimulate collagen and tighten skin, helping to produce a firm and rejuvenated appearance.

For optimal results we offer an individualised program of skin care products for preparation prior to laser treatment and ongoing maintenance after treatments. Taking a multi-modality approach provides you with the best results.

Pigmentation simply refers to the colour of our skin, which might take the form of freckles or age spots, or larger patches of darker or lighter skin. We use medical-grade QX Max lasers to reduce the discolouration and even out your skin tone, increasing its natural radiance.

Our QX Max laser includes a unique dynamic cooling device that helps to soothe and protect your skin during treatment.

Skin discolouration in some form is common as we age, it may only be slight and barely noticeable, other times it may create significant variation in skin tone. Our laser treatment can dramatically reduce the discolouration and even out skin tone, creating healthier, younger-looking skin.

An initial consultation with one of our specialists will highlight the options available and identify the most appropriate method of treatment to suit your skin type.

Fresh Skin Canvas utilises the Fotona QX Max , providing the perfect solution of the latest technologies to treat all skin types for superficial vascular conditions.

Superficial skin changes in the face and on the body are treated effectively, enabling the safe removal of many superficial pigment and vascular conditions on the face and on the body, protecting the surrounding tissue and the epidermis, including:

  • Spider Vein
  • Rosacea (Redness)
  • Facial Veins
  • Telangiectasia
  • Broken Capillaries
  • Birth marks (portwine stains)
  • Venous Lakes
  • Angiomas and Haemangiomas

Facial Capillaries and Pigmented conditions are usually associated with sun damage, ageing. Some women develop these during pregnancy or hormonal changes.

Facial capillaries can be effectively treated using our medical lasers which specifically target blue, purple and red vessels. Using various wavelengths the lasers are able to target the unsightly vessels causing them to coagulate often disappearing instantly.

Red vessels are often visibly reduced in only one session, although our clinicians will assess your individual needs and create a specific customised plan for you, where two to five treatments may be recommended depending on the size, depth or extent of the network of vessels.

Venous Lakes

Venous Lakes are blue to violet lesions that are usually found on the lower lip or ears. They are a dilation of the underlying veins and can be usually treated in one session with our QX Max laser. A distinct popping sound is heard when the venous lake is treated. Venous lakes respond very quickly and may form a darker scab on the area for a few days following treatment.

Angiomas and Haemangiomas

These present as small red dots that are often found on the torso but sometimes on the face. Similar to a venous lake, a long high energy pulse is required to shut off the blood supply. The lesion will then form a scab and flake away. Generally, only one treatment is required.

Port Wine Stains

Port wine stains are congenital vascular malformations in the skin that lead to a reddish/purple discolouration. The 532nm wavelength from the Q-Switch KTP is highly attracted to the haemoglobin in this birthmark. This shuts down the abnormal vessels and reduces the discolouration of the skin. Multiple treatments are usually required.

Spider Veins

These are commonly found on legs, often in clusters and particularly on the thighs. A targeted high energy Nd:YAG session is the best treatment. The Nd:YAG targets the haemoglobin in the veins to thrombose and collapse down the vessel. It is very quick and effective at treating red-purple veins and only takes a few minutes.

Rosacea is a common condition that affects 1 in 20 people and is characterised by facial redness. It is best treated with a combination of laser and appropriate medical grade skin products. The exact cause of rosacea is unknown. Exposure to certain climates and radiation (including UV radiation) may play a role in the development of the condition by causing vessel wall abnormalities. Recent studies show that it may be caused by a mite, demodex folliculorum, but genetics also play an integral role.

Laser treatments can help to control the symptoms rather than cure the problem.
Redness and broken capillaries due to rosacea can be very effectively and quickly corrected with laser treatments. In many cases, broken facial capillaries can only be properly treated by laser.

A multimodality approach, often combining the two wavelengths KTP 532nm and Nd:YAG 1064nm. The 532nm is attracted to the oxyhaemoglobin in the vessels and is very effective in shutting down smaller broken facial capillaries and reducing facial redness. The 1064nm has a deeper penetration and has the ability to thrombose the deeper vessels that may feed the facial capillaries.
Left untreated, rosacea can damage the skin and at times cause enlargement of the nose (rhinophyma), worsening of redness and facial capillaries and thickening of the skin.

Nail Fungus (Onychomycosis)

Fungal Nails also called Onychomycosis, can cause nails to become yellow or discoloured and as the infection advances the nail can become thick, brittle and separate from the nail bed.

Fungal infections can affect any part of the body, from the skin to the eyes. Fungi are normally present in and around the body along with bacteria. When a fungus begins to overgrow, an infection can occur.

Onychomycosis (also called tinea unguium) is a fungal infection that affects the nails. Fungal infections normally develop over time, so any immediate difference in the way your nail looks or feels may be too subtle to notice at first.

According to case studies & Student Health and Counselling Services, fungal infections affect toenails more commonly than fingernails.

How Does Our laser Treatment Work?

The laser light is used to pass through the nail and the surrounding tissue and is absorbed by the fungi, causing these cells to heat. The combination of heat and light selectively destroys the fungus, leaving surrounding cells unharmed.

Why Does It Develop?

A fungal nail infection occurs from the overgrowth of fungi in, under, or on the nail. Fungi thrive in warm, moist environments, so this type of environment can cause them to naturally overpopulate. The same fungi that cause jock itch, athlete’s foot, and ringworm can cause infection in the nails.

Fungi that are already present in or on your body can cause nail infections. If you have come in contact with someone else who has a fungal infection, it may have spread to you. Because fungi prefer damp, dark conditions, fungal infections occur more often on the toenails than the fingernails. When your feet are inside shoes, it can create a dark and moist environment for fungi to thrive.

If you get a manicure or pedicure at a nail salon, be sure to ask how and how often the staff disinfects their tools. Tools, such as emery boards and nail clippers, can spread fungal infections from person to person if they are not sanitised.

There are many different causes of fungal nail infections, and each cause has a treatment of its own. Although many of the causes of onychomycosis are preventable, some risk factors increase the likelihood of developing it.

You are more likely to develop a fungal nail infection if you:

  • Have diabetes
  • Have a disease that affects the blood vessels
  • Wear artificial nails
  • Have a nail injury
  • Have moist fingers or toes for an extended time
  • Have a weakened immune system
  • Wear closed shoes, such as tennis shoes or boots
Visible fungal nail infection signs include:
  • Scaling under the nail (subungual hyperkeratosis)
  • White or yellow streak on the nail (lateral onychomycosis)
  • Crumbling corner or tip of the nail (distal onychomycosis)
  • Flaking white areas on the nail’s surface (may include pits in the nail)
  • Loss of the nail
Common fungal nail infection signs include:
  • A distorted nail
  • An odor coming from the infected nail
  • A brittle or thickened nail

Microdermabrasion is a safe, quick, and effective treatment that can be used at any age to revitalise and improve the complexion of the skin. Depending on your goals, a microdermabrasion treatment can be completed in as little as 20 minutes, leaving your skin feeling revitalised, soft and smooth.

Microdermabrasion works in two ways:
Firstly exfoliating the top layer of dead skin using mechanical abrasion; and
Second, utilising gentle vacuum suction to stimulate collagen production and clear congested pores. This treatment allows the top layer of the skin to regenerate leaving you with a youthful radiance to your complexion that everyone will notice.

Commonly known as a “lunch time peel”, as the treatment can be performed during client’s lunch. It is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment using medical grade Diamond tips onto the skin’s surface to exfoliate layers of dead and damaged skin.

If you have acne or blemishes, extractions are the most important part of a Mirco for you. Once the follicles are cleared out, your skin should start to improve. It’s also important to follow up with the right products and a good home skin care routine.

At Fresh Skin Canvas we use only the finest medical grade diamond tips providing far greater results than ‘standard’ crystal tips. Our microdermabrasion results in improvements including skin toning and texture for skin conditions such as:

  • Acne
  • Acne scarring
  • Blocked or congested pores
  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine Lines and wrinkles
  • Superficial pigmentation
  • Blackheads and whiteheads

Skin needling also known as collagen induction therapy is a minimally invasive rejuvenation treatment that requires minimal downtime post treatment. The concept of skin needling is based on the skins ability to repair itself following injury. Skin needling creates a controlled wound to the skin causing micro-wounds in the skin with areas of intact epidermis around the puncture site. This action triggers collagen synthesis resulting is smoother, firmer more youthful looking skin.

We use quality, titanium, gold plated rollers to ensure sterility and client conform.

  • Indications
  • Scarring (acne scarring and stretch marks)
  • Dull or thickened skin
  • Loss of elasticity
  • Prevention (anti-aging)
  • Enlarged pores

What is Dermapen?

The most advanced form of facial skin needling, Dermapen pen needling technology uses electronically charged automation with an ergonomic oscillating wand. The vibrating effect increases procedural comfort whilst creating tiny rejuvenating channels as it manoeuvres across the skin. The convertible speed motor and adjustable treatment depths allow for targeted precision that treats multiple skin concerns within the one session. Pen needling treats and successfully reduces the appearance of facial ageing, wrinkle, scar tissue, stretch marks and pigmentation. As with all skin needling procedures, a course of treatment is recommended to sustain long term results and a visible skin solution.

How it works

Dermapen treatments create minute fractional channels into the skin’s surface. This triggers an organic healing cascade encouraging natural skin healing, renewal and repair. The skin’s processes are progressively strengthened and normalised promoting intensive regeneration. During the treatment a slight sting and vibrating effect can be felt as the pen glides over the skin. Unlike other methods of skin needling, pen technology is comfortable with procedural time complete in around 15 minutes. The ergonomic pen is able to treat all contours and hard-to-reach areas on the face including the under-eyes and upper lip. Post-treatment, the skin feels and looks like mild sunburn with redness lasting up to 2 days.

Professional Grade Peel

Medi-facials are a suitable alternative to chemical peeling procedures for those who have hypersensitive and or delicate skin. Medi-facials incorporate enzyme exfoliants to induce controlled wounding of the uppermost layer of the epidermis (dead) skin cells to improve skin texture and appearance. Medi-facials are also fantastic at removing slothing skin cells post chemical peeling procedures.

Chemical peeling is a cosmetic procedure based on the application of an enzyme or chemical agent to the skin to induce condoled wounding the epidermis and or dermis cells resulting in the removal of skin imperfections and improve skin texture.

Chemical peeling procedures are extremely effective at improving the appearance of several skin conditions which include;

  • Acne
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Photo damage
  • Thickened and or dull skin
  • Prematurely aged skin
  • Maintaining general skin health
  • Formulas
  • Fruit enzymes
  • Alpha and beta hydroxyl acids
  • Vitamin-based peels
  • Modified Jesners Solution

How Infrared Works:

Infrared Thermal Therapy stimulates and increases circulation helping activate the body’s natural healing and repairing processes. Infrared energy is absorbed very easily by the human body and is being used for detoxification programmes by Doctors worldwide.
Due to todays high levels of stress and toxicity the body’s natural ability to heal, is often compromised. Some of us have reached critical stress and/or toxic levels and we do not have the energy to detoxify or repair our bodies.
The internal production of Infrared energy that normally occurs within our tissues and is associated with a variety of healing responses will respond to the boost given by Infrared Rays.
The Infrared Rays will be selectively absorbed by those tissues needing a boost in their output. So for healing and detoxification to occur successfully we often require a boost of Infrared energy to maximise healing responses. Thermal energy will rise, tissues will become more active and the pace of metabolism will increase. It is almost like re-charging the body’s battery.

Infrared Rays Do Not Damage Skin:

Infrared rays are safe and beneficial rays from the sun. (J Cardiol.2008)
Infrared Rays Do not cause sunburn and damages your skin & should not be confused with Ultraviolet Light which can cause sunburn and damage the skin.

Laser Facial Resurfacing

Harnessing sophisticated photo acoustic technology, Fresh Skin Canvas’ laser facial treatment induces powerful improvement in the skin for a superior collagen rebuilding effect. With relatively low risk and downtime, waves of energy safely and gently vibrate the collagen fibers, reorganizing the skin’s scaffolding and stimulating new collagen.

We offer treatments that target a specific problem in the skin, successfully treating issues such as fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, lack of collagen, uneven skin tone, texture, congestion, acne and scarring without affecting the surrounding skin.

It’s a revolutionary approach to a more refreshed appearance, even tone, smoother texture, tighter skin and smaller pores. The result is gradual, natural improvement through a series of treatments. The treatments are quick, comfortable and can be performed on most people regardless of age, gender or skin type.

Carbon Laser Peel

A carbon peel is a revolutionary laser treatment that is painless with minimal-to-zero downtime. It is highly beneficial for people with oily skin, blackheads, enlarged pores, dull skin, and acne on the face or body. It is also an excellent way to exfoliate and refresh your skin, providing an instant refreshed appearance and leaving skin feeling softer, smoother and firmer.

A layer of liquid carbon is applied to the skin and left to process between 5 and 10 minutes, where it penetrates deep into the pores. Laser light is highly attracted to the carbon particles. When the laser is passed over the area, it destroys the carbon, taking dead skin cells, contaminants and oil with it.

This treatment provides several benefits.

Carbon has the ability to absorb oil and contaminants from deep within the pores. When the laser is passed over the treatment area it targets and destroys the carbon particles, taking any absorbed material with it.

As the carbon is targeted by the laser, it blasts away dead skin cells, blackheads and effectively exfoliates the skin. The result is softer, radiant skin with reduced pore size and a more even skin tone.

Carbon peels also target the deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production, which in turn produces firmer, plumper skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and leaves skin feeling tighter and glowing.

Acne and Oil Destroying:
The heat produced by carbon peels has 2 additional benefits. It reduces the P.Acnes bacteria responsible for acne, allowing for better management of pimples and outbreaks, and it also shrinks sebaceous glands (oil producing glands), resulting in less oil production, and therefore reducing congestion building up in the pores. Treatments can be performed on any part of the body, including the back and chest.

As with all skin treatments, carbon peels should be supplemented by a good skin-care routine, and daily use of a high-spectrum sunscreen. Noticeable results can be experienced after a single treatment, but for maximum long-term results we recommend regular treatments.

The Carbon Laser Facial is a non-invasive treatment and you can return to work and normal activities immediately after your treatment. Some redness is observed but will subside as part of the healing process.

All areas of the body can be treated.
